Madonna Jeffries asked:

So you are back into the dating game and looking for Mr Right but somehow always end up with Mr Wrong. My single girlfriends are forever telling me that there are no good men left as they are all married or taken!

Well contrary to the popular belief held by women that all the good single guys are taken and that there are not enough good men left to date there is ample evidence to show that this is just not the case. In fact the average single guy looking for love is in-fact highly likely to be someone who has a good career as a teacher or tradesman. Statistically he will be over five feet seven inches in height and will be relatively athletic and not too overweight. He will have an above-average appearance and will enjoy to cook, dance and also doesn’t mind an occasional walk in the country along with going to the movies and eating out.

Look For Honest And Monogamous Males

The best dating advice for women would be to look for these ‘average’ single guys who are also looking for a lasting, permanent and loving relationship. Generally these men view monogamy positively and also pride themselves on being honest. These gentlemen are generally looking for a lady of a similar age, so women should concentrate on meeting guys either their own age or up to 5 years younger or older, depending on your preference.

Another important dating advice for women is to actually give the guy a chance. It is a common complaint among men that women are too quick to pass judgments and simply don’t give them the opportunity to to get to know the women and to develop a relationship.

It is a known fact that women believe that most men place too much emphasis on physical appearance, however, the same criticism can also be leveled against most women when they are out in the pursuit of a relationship with a man. In the single circles it is quite common for men to complain that they have been rejected by women on the basis of their looks and that their other valuable attributes like honesty, integrity and their caring nature have been totally ignored.

Did you know that most dating agencies will not initially show women photographs of prospective dates until the women has expressed an interest on meeting the man based on his job, interests and other factors like height and age, purely because women place so much emphasis on the importance of looks.

So my dating advice for women is that if you are seriously looking for a new partner forget about finding that ‘perfect looking man’ and expand your horizons by looking for more desirable qualities in men, such as finding someone who has similar interests and good communication skills. Today, women have many more opportunities to meet men than the single women of 50 years ago who generally did not have jobs and found it difficult to meet eligible men. Women have a very big presence in the workforce and this allows ample opportunity to meet and develop relationships with men during and after work.

Ladies, you should not be intent on meeting the perfect match straight away. Instead it is better to date someone who has a few of the personal qualities you are interested in and with a little luck this person may become your ‘ideal partner’. As the old saying goes ‘you can’t judge a book by the cover’, so be open and willing to speak with men before you make a judgment based purely on their looks. By taking this approach you do not have much to lose but you could certainly have plenty to gain.

Jason Roberts asked:

If you really want to cook up some hot romance with single women, think about cooking – literally. If you’re looking for a place where you’re in the minority and women are in the majority, go to cooking school. Or, at least sign up for one cooking class. Even if the worst happens and you don’t manage to cook up some romance with single women, you might learn a thing or two about putting together a really yummy dinner.

If Ms. Right doesn’t turn up in cooking class, the next woman that comes along is bound to be impressed by your culinary schools.

Cooking classes can cook up some romance with single women as you cook up your dishes as well.

That’s because you’ll be one of the few (and perhaps the only) males in the class. There will be competition for your attention, and perhaps even your affections. Just a little of the “oh, clumsy male me, I wish I could manage this.

Can’t someone help me?” routine will have them running to your side to guide you. After a few cooking classes you might then turn to cooking up some hot romance, with a “let’s get together and try our new recipes” line.

Especially if someone has been really helpful, this is bound to be effective. “You helped me so much, the least I can do is cook for you,” is bound to cook up some romance too.

As you look for just the right cooking class, keep in mind that you want one that runs for several weeks.

You want to have time to get to know the single women in the class and figure out just how to cook up some hot romance with the woman (women) of your choice.

Once you have a handle on putting together a fine meal, and the woman of your choice has agreed to test your new found cooking skills, it’s time to pull out all the romance stops.

Besides the great meal you’re about to cook, don’t forget a table setting that’s as elegant as it is romantic, a nice wine, some soft music, some dim lighting or candle light and fresh flowers.

Make it look nice but not so dim or sexy as to be blatantly seductive. That could make your guest feel like you’ve been underhanded about your motives.

Be casual, let her help in the kitchen a little (while she sips your wine, of course) and ask her opinion of your latest music CD. Or, better yet, pick out several that are soothing and sentimental and let her pick.

Avoid hard rock and raucous sounds unless you know she’s a devoted fan.

In fact, if somehow the course of a prior conversation has gotten around to music favorites make sure that her favorite singer or group is part of your musical repertoire.

This, then, is how to cook up some hot romance with single women.

Steve Barrett asked:

ust as you are to the online dating table. Placing an ad is easy. But, placing a dynamite ad is an art. You only have one chance to make a good first impression. Ahead you will learn to outshine nearly all others.

The importance of photos and profile narratives and their quality is paramount. Logically it follows that you will want to place an ad about yourself which will excite the greatest interest in your potential viewers. You must know your audience. Important – Photo should have an easily visible (large view) of you. Most personals photos are dark and look like they were taken from far away. Closeness, that’s the mood you want to create in your audience.

Some of the key elements in your personals ad which you may not have thought of, but will be judged by are;

Is he articulate?

Is she original?

Is she educated?

Is he charming?

Is he interesting?

Is she witty?

Is she courteous?

Is he outgoing?

Finally – Is he willing to put forth some effort in his ad to win me?

What you write will tell who you are! As we have just seen it’s not just what you say about yourself and your desires that will tell her about you. The composition itself will spell out who you are. Better to put your best literary foot forward to make a positive statement about just exactly who you are.

At this point let us address the men and then a little alteration for the women will be in order. Ad techniques are different for both genders. Men are not especially looking for funny or good listeners, whereas women generally are.

For the Men

Let’s begin by discussing structure. Structure will give a logical flow to your audience. There is nothing worse than a scatter-brained personal that is too busy, it turns women off.

1. Let us begin with the picture. Women are not visually stimulated in the way men are, so seductive is not the key. You must be well groomed and approachable. Look into the camera. Looking away will make you seem aloof. Use inviting body language. Smile, and bear your neck dimple. (Where the collar bone meets the neck) Military uniforms and business suits (ties) cover this area for a reason. We cover this vulnerable area so as not to portray vulnerability. In your personal ad you want vulnerability. Remember you are targeting women.

2. Salutations – According to Parade magazine a simple Hi! is a great opener. This is just the ice breaker.

3. Personal introduction – Give your name or nickname if you wish.

4. Biographical information – Start out with an opener which will grab her attention and reach into her heart. Appeal to her emotionally. Women are emotionally centered. Make it so that she must read your ad! After this stage give her just the facts. This directness shows strength and confidence. Both are qualities which women value. Be honest and avoid the heartbreak of separation caused by dishonesty. Maybe she would rather have a plumber than the CEO of Microsoft after all.

This is your online dating bio, so include what you wish. Items usually mentioned are; age, occupation, and children, race, place of birth, where you live, favorite foods, entertainment preferences, hobbies, music tastes, and education.

Finally, give them some tangible asset about yourself to make her want you. No boasting. Put it in such a way that you do not seem arrogant. Put it something like – I’ve been told that I have a great sense of humor or that I’m a great cook.

5. Now that you have told them you know who you are, tell them you know what you want. Do you want a down to earth gal? Say so. The divas will be repelled and the woman who appreciates it most will answer your call. Be descriptive and to the point!

6. Conclusion – Paint a mental image of what your lives would be like together. Something romantically appealing works wonders. In case you haven’t noticed women love romance. Woo her. Be careful in your invitation not to use negative or conditional words like – if you are the one. Instead of this use – you are the one I would love to warm up by the fire with. She will know when you are speaking to her, if she is the one. Use these final words to make her feel like a kindred soul.

Once your ad is structured coherently we must now ensure that the following elements have been included.

1. Salutation – Short, polite. Hi! or Howdy, whatever best suits who you are.

2. Descriptive adjectives – Positive and powerful superlatives which will enhance her imagery experience and build curiosity. Infect her with your zest for life

3. Spelling and grammar – Look intelligent, educated, and thoughtful.! Consult a spell check or dictionary and correct errors. We are not all English professors, Have someone critique your writing.

4. Warm text – Use key words that stimulate emotion. Words such as fun, romance, love, happiness, and feel give a warmth to your writing and will give her a positive reading experience. Again, this will give her a little insight as to what life with you might be like.

5. Courtesy – Don’t use harsh language or slang. Best to come across in a serious dating forum as polite.

We realize that there is a trend of extremism out there that feels the need to shock. She will appreciate you even more for being a gentleman online.

6. Spur her to action – At the end of your ad be sure to urge them to reply now. Make it a suggestion. Say something like – Why not email me now and seize the day with me? I’ll be right here waiting for you !

We have an example of a dynamite personal ad at http://www.christiandatemate.com/christian_dating_pers-ad-sample.htm

For the ladies

Fortunately for women the online dating scene is predominantly male in terms of numbers. This works to your advantage – more fish to choose from. However you cannot rest on your laurels though. You still need at least a cursory knowledge of what motivates men, blended with your own original creative touch.

Hopefully you took the time to read the men’s section. All of the above applies to women as well with a few exceptions. Make them want to read your ad using compelling imagery. Remember men are more visually stimulated than you are.

Use a complimentary photo of yourself. Alluring is good, but be careful not to send the wrong message. Be sure to project yourself as warm and inviting. Smile and look into the camera. Use body language that says come a little bit closer.

Best wishes in your quest!

David Roppo asked:

At her trial, a court-appointed psychologist said Brinkley "needs to start working on deeper issues," including "her choice of male figures."

Christie Brinkley with a robust and athletic California-girl smile was the first woman to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition for three consecutive years (1979-81).  Brinkley was studying art in Paris when she was discovered by a fashion photographer early in the 1970s, and she soon joined the Ford modeling agency. Her career really took off with her first Sports Illustrated cover in 1979. She had a cameo role in National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983) and married superstar singer Billy Joel 1985. (She appeared in Joel’s videos for "Uptown Girl" and "Keeping the Faith" and created the cover art for his 1988 Album River of Dreams. Brinkley and Joel divorced in 1994.) Like Cheryl Tiegs Brinkley was a longtime spokes model for Cover Girl cosmetics.

Christie Brinkley has had quite the illustrious career, although her relationships haven’t exuded the same fortuitous outcome since all four have ended badly! The later being no exception, with Peter Cook partaking in extra marital affairs, pornography, and drugs!

Among the details Christie Brinkley revealed at the divorce trial:

Peter Cook offered to pay women he met online for sex.

Spent upwards of $3,000 a month on online porn

Forgot to close a slideshow of said porn when 10-year-old son Jack asked to use his computer for a school report

Had an affair with teenage assistant Diana Bianchi

Was busted for cocaine at a gay truck stop and did time

Is Peter Cook wrong for his detestable behavior? Absolutely, unequivocally yes, but the bigger question for Christie is; what’s going to be different next time?

Why do some women seem to attract one Mr. Wrong after another? It’s not as if they’ve placed a classified in the local newspaper, which listed all the descriptive yet detestable qualities they’ve never longed for! And, I don’t think they’ve conducted a Mr. Wrong job fair at the local conference center and laboriously interviewed a cast of undesirable potentials! So, why in the heck do these guys keep showing up?

Let’s take a moment to examine the statement Christie’s psychologist made during her divorce litigation “Brinkley needs to start working on deeper issues," including "her choice of male figures."  Is it really a matter of conscious choice? In my opinion, it is not and nor has it ever been. I’m quite sure Christie did not intend to land someone that was going to sleep with his 18 year old assistant, become addicted to porn, or get arrested for drugs! I have proven time in and time out that this unfortuitious scenario happens purely by default! The law of attraction is at play here, and it’s almost as if she’s a Mr. Wrong Magnet! Well, maybe she is in so many words! Now don’t get me wrong (not a play on words!) I am not at all saying that she deserves to attract the wrong guy. Quite the contrary, she deserves to find the love that she’s always dreamed of and I’m going to tell her exactly how to get it!

You see, most women attract Mr. Wrong unintentionally or by default! Well, of course it happened by default since you didn’t ask for it! Or, did you?  Well, you may not have verbally asked for it but you did subconsciously! The universe is not partial to what you order, so the celestial waiter will deliver exactly what you asked for, whether you’re aware of it or not!

Attracting Mr. Wrong has everything to do with the energy you are projecting and ultimately the self-limiting beliefs you hold about yourself as well as others. Frequently, this stems from the fears and insecurities which are bred in a dysfunctional upbringing. As a child, were you unloved, verbally abused, controlled, or inadequately parented? How have these things affected your level of self-esteem? Now, you may be thinking how could Christie Brinkley be dealing with any of these issues? Well, I don’t know Christie personally, so I can’t make that statement with any validity. However, the statement her psychologist made at the trial would certainly lend credibility to that theory.

Now you may be saying to yourself; what does self-esteem have to do with attracting Mr. Wrong? Well, everything! If I asked you to describe the perfect partner, what would you say? It’s my experience that most women would describe the perfect partner as being confident, loving, romantic, caring, kind, understanding and passionate. Someone that loves who they are, can easily articulate their needs, pursue there dreams, and is not afraid to love unconditionally. Ok, now describe your qualities! Is that what you are? If not, then how can you expect to attract someone who is? You see, you must become the very thing you wish to attract! So, if you want to attract Mr. Right you have to transform yourself into Ms. Right!

So, there is hope for Christie to get back on the marriage horse someday by finding Mr. Right! However, to accomplish that it will take liberating her self from her own fears and insecurities and tapping into her true feminine power!

Francis Githinji asked:

Online dating is a phenomenon which is being encouraged a lot especially by upcoming and established dating sites. However one is supposed to be aware of possible dangers and disappointments of Internet dating. Many people will convince you trust online dating to give you successful relationship. It might be true but it is also good to have some online dating advice. You will meet people with fancy dating profiles but you have no means to tell what is behind those pretty faces you see through the web cams. Prevention is always better than cure so you should be careful while dealing with your online date. Not every person is genuinely looking for love. Some are con men out to exploit your resources.

Love is a tricky tool to use because as you must have known it renders us blind. These looters will target dating sites since they are aware that here people search for love. Do not let anyone rob you off your heart as well as your money. It is very painful. My online dating advice is, you should always be on guard. Assess the questions  your online date is asking you and if you find them suspicious run very fast lest you dismiss your own observations. Whatever you do i advice you not to disclose your personal details to the stranger. You might have chatted for about six months but remember you met online and his identity might be faked.

This malicious people are very intelligent. They will play with your psychology until you are convinced. They might tell you to send them money for ticket so that they can meet you physically. They know that you feel unloved and that nobody has ever really placed any importance on you. They will use this to their advantage. They might cook up a story that they had a bad car accident and you are the only person who loves them and who can bail them out. A trick right there,  you will feel appreciated and since you have the money you will wire it to a physically fit person. Some of them are even of the same sex with you. My online dating advice is that you should not send money to a person you have not physically met and evaluated.

It is an important online dating advice for women not to have sex with their online partners during their first physical date. It is very absurd. A survey carried out recently revealed that most women get involved sexually without protection during the first date. You should know that your life is very important. It is not wise to place it on such high health risk. You might long-term online friends but it is hard to know what your date does with his life. Another piece of online dating advice is that, you should learn to use search engines to do a back ground check-up of the person. This will give you results which might give you a clue about your new found friend.

Rodrigo Rehn asked:

Normally, middle class males would think twice before asking a woman to go out for a date. They usually tend to go out of their way and blow their wallets off to impress their dates especially on the first one. But dates really do not have to be a costly endeavour. One just needs to seek some advice for some cool options on how to have a successful date on a limited budget.

Go for the Dutch treat. For the first date, it is but normal for the males to pay for the entire check. But some dating couples usually agree on going Dutch on succeeding fine dining dinner dates especially when both make decent salaries. But if you choose to have dinner in a fast-casual or casual restaurant, you should be able to foot the entire bill so you need to prepare for it.

Have a picnic. When you are running on a really tight budget, you can opt to invite her to a simple walk or picnic in the park. Try to research on some of these promenading parks and be sure to visit them yourself first to make sure that you will not be as surprised as she is when she sees it for the first time. Look for a peaceful romantic place with lots of shade trees and flowers. A lake or lagoon would also put on a very nice view. Even if she is not a nature lover, she would certainly appreciate your effort of looking for such a nice date place.

Surprise her with a special dinner by candle light. Invite her to come over to your place and tell her that you will cook dinner for her. It might not be as sumptuous and scrumptious as a restaurant dinner, but she would certainly find it much more personal and romantic. It may require a lot more effort on your part, but at least it should be able to accommodate your limited funds. If you have some money left, you can even buy reasonably priced champagne which should be able to spice the night even more.

Another alternative for an expensive dinner date is the beachside date. Choose a spot near the beach where you can set up your dinner. You can ask a friend to help you with the preparation. Rent or borrow a portable table for two and cover it with white table cloth.

Bring in two chairs and accentuate them with some ribbons. Set the table properly and put a small scented candle in between the plates. Prepare dinner, bring it over and ask your friend to help you with the serving. You may also opt to serve some red or white wine in tall glasses. It would also be nice for both you and your date to dress up for the occasion to make the evening more special.

Dating can be really be a purse buster if you let it go out of proportion but a fancy dinner cannot guarantee anyone a successful date. In fact, the most simple but well thought-of dates are usually the ones most appreciated and remembered.

Penelope Phillips asked:

Dating advice is useful if you’re already dating, but what if you have no idea where to start? With that in mind, I suggest three venues that you can explore with the goal of meeting eligible men.

Get involve in an activity that you are passionate about. Join a gym, cooking class, pottery class, take dancing lessons or anything else that you are passionate about or at least interested in trying. By doing this, you will be in contact with potentially quality men who share a common interest.

Online dating forums or websites. Quality dating websites can help you find the love of your life. The advantage of these types of sites is that you can select pre-defined criteria such as education level, income, hobbies and interests, age, and location. The use of online dating sites can also provide a buffer time span that can allow you to screen for frauds, or determine to some extent what the other person is looking for, and other criteria that may be important to you. Online dating sites can be tailored to YOUR specifications. It is much easier to turn someone down in an email or on a site than in person. You have no inhibitions and can be fully honest without fear of humiliation. You may think to yourself, as many others have that only desperate people post profiles online. This is simply not the case. In today’s modern society we are simply busy and end up putting dating at the bottom of our list of priorities.

At work. Workplace relationships may be frowned upon by your organization, but they can be lasting and meaningful. As long as you ensure that limits are set, and that you make sure that conflicts of interest are not an issue, consider it. You spend so much time at work; why not consider dating a colleague? Have lunch with a colleague of interest, and see if you cannot make a special connection. With this method, I warn you not to be too upfront at the beginning, see if there is chemistry first, and then proceed.

Open your eyes! Good looking, intelligent, funny men are all around us. Be proactive in your search, and be open to new experiences, and enjoy life. It is crucial to be comfortable in one’s own skin. A partnership involves two partners, not two halves. By this I mean that you have to be able to bring something constructive to the other’s life. Take control of your love life, and you’ll find what you’ve been missing.

Love is the most powerful thing. Better than chocolate, better than success, better than all the money or possessions you could accumulate in a lifetime. Don’t get desperate, never settle, and keep looking. The love of your life is waiting to be found!

Deborah Dixon asked:

With some creativity and preparation, dating needn’t be an expensive experience. Dating on a budget doesn’t mean a date will be less romantic, or that your date will think you are being tight-fisted; it will show that you are using your imagination and trying to be innovative. Whether you prefer to eat at a restaurant or go to the theatre, remember there are always cheaper date options. Your date doesn’t need to know how much money you spend on a date; the most important thing is that you spend some quality time together and have fun getting to know one another. There are numerous ways for you to have a wonderful date without overspending which range from being completely free, to being relatively low-cost.

Eating is included in many date options, whether it is in a restaurant, bar or coffee shop. Eating out can take up a large portion of your date budget, but there are many alternative options to avoid this. Cooking at home is very popular with couples as it gives you the opportunity to relax in home surroundings while enjoying a delicious home cooked meal. It also gives you the chance to show off your cookery talent, or be impressed by your date’s cookery skills. Alternatively you could enjoy a takeaway together and share your favourite dishes. Depending on the amount of food you order, takeaway prices are relatively cheap compared to a fancy restaurant. A picnic is another great date idea. A romantic setting in the countryside to enjoy a tasty picnic allows you to relax and make the most of the piece and quiet. A picnic can be as extravagant as you wish, or keep it simple for a lower cost. If you like the idea of a picnic and staying at home, another great idea is a candle-lit picnic on the living room floor. This is good if it is raining outside, plus it enables you to put on romantic music in the background. If you prefer going to a restaurant, then a lower-cost option is to go to a restaurant at lunchtime when many restaurants have special lunchtime offers and discounted meals. Alternatively you could have a mouth-watering pub lunch, which are often cheaper than restaurant prices.

If you like to go to the cinema or theatre on a date, there are cheaper options. Many cinemas offer discounted ticket prices on particular days and times, usually when visiting the cinema is unpopular. This does vary from cinema to cinema, but it is definitely worth looking in to. Another great idea is to watch a movie in the comfort of your own home. Not only is it cheaper and cosier, it also enables you to watch whichever movie you feel like, unlike the cinema where you are restricted to a handful of films. Why not substitute a visit to the theatre with a comedy club? Laughing is a great way to bring two people closer together, so a comedy club is a perfect option, plus it is guaranteed that you will end the date with a smile on your face. If you’re not a great fan of comedy, you could always attend a book reading or poetry reading at a local bookshop. If both you and your date enjoy books and poetry, then this is an ideal option for you and it has the bonus of being free of charge.

If you are a fan of the outdoors and fresh air then there are several date ideas for you. A gentle stroll or even a hike in the countryside, the park or a wood is a good way to spend some quality time together. Without any interruptions you will have all the time you need to get to know one another without spending a penny. You then have the choice of taking some sandwiches with you and eating them in a quiet location, but don’t forget to take some extra bread to feed the ducks if you are near a river or lake. Other outdoor date ideas include watching the sunset or sunrise, bird watching and stargazing, all of which can be very romantic, especially watching the stars in the fresh night air. Even if you aren’t interested in birds or the stars, it can be enjoyable to learn something new with someone you care about.

There are several active date ideas that are low-cost which are great if you enjoy being energetic. You don’t need to have special equipment or belong to a specialised club to take part in sport; your local park and a ball are sufficient. Being active is a great way to have fun and make you feel relaxed at the same time. Cycling is a great date idea if you enjoy the outdoors and enjoy being active. This won’t cost you anything if you already own a bike. Alternatively many nature reserves or wooded locations allow you to hire bikes and cycle around the area. Less energetic activities such as miniature golf is another low-cost way to have fun. You could even take up kite flying and perhaps even make your own kite out of newspaper and bits you have about the house. You will have lots of fun together trying to get your homemade kite lift off the ground.

Other low-cost date ideas include window shopping, playing a board game, a visit to an art gallery or museum and a trip to the beach. Depending on parking prices and location, these ideas can be cost-free. Many museums and galleries are free to visit and a day at the beach needn’t cost much if you take your own food and rug to sit on.

If you are interested in learning something new with your partner, why not take up a hobby together? It will cost to learn a new hobby, such as dancing or painting, but in the long run it will be cheaper than multiple visits to a restaurant, cinema or theatre. As well as having fun together, a hobby will lead to further date ideas to carry out, for example, visiting a castle or lake to paint your view.

Many of these date ideas can be as expensive or inexpensive as you like, but don’t forget about hidden costs. Remember that admission fees, parking charges and eating and drinking out costs all add up and can make a date more expensive. If you plan your date and take into account possible added costs, then you can achieve a successful romantic date on a budget suitable for you.
