Should you run adsense on your website?

On the negative side when people click on one of the ads it is actually taking away that visitor from your site. If you are offering a service it therefore probably is not worth signing up for adsense for that site. If the site is purely for information purposes I would say that it is worth adding the code.

How to increase your adsense earnings

There are many ways in which you can blend the adverts into your website by choosing a particular colour for the ads as an example. Placement of the ads is also quite important and there is information on the Google site which advises where to put the adverts for maximum impact.

I believe the best way to increase your earnings however is to get more traffic to the website. There are many ways of doing this:

Google adwords

You can create an advertising campaign using google adwords. You could opt to pay near enough the minimum fee per click and this will keep the costs down. People will then visit your site and hopefully click on one of the other ads, therefore making you money.

This can work very well for certain subjects, but not so well for others. It is a matter of trial and error, I always run the adwords for around a month and then evaluate if it is worth carrying on after that point.

This is becoming more and more popular as one way backward links are becoming ever more powerful in the eyes of the search engines. These type of links are however quite hard to come by.

By purchasing a text link advert you are likely to have an increase in web traffic from two avenues. Firstly from the advert itself and also from the page rank value of the backward link.

Writing articles

My reasoning behind what I just said in relation to my example is that “gym training” is a massively broad market and it has been exhausted by lots of people. There are loads of “gym programs or guides” for sale all over the internet and the competition is fierce. Now I’m sure you wouldn’t open a “pie shop” on a block that already has 10 “pie shops” would you? Why? Because competition is too fierce. The other pie shops have been around for some time and are ALL doing very well. You would have to have ZERO business sense to make a move on that district.

So imagine that a budding chef named “Frank” has a product to sell, let’s say it’s a “cookery book” and they approach Click bank and they let him advertise his new “cookery book” with them. Now the reason why he has approached Click bank is because thousands of internet marketers use them everyday looking for a new product to sell. He wants and prays for people to promote his product so he can earn some big moolah! So to encourage them to sell his product he offers a whopping maximum 75% commission! The 75% looks very tasty and encouraging BUT what about the thousands of other “cookery books” also for sale online and through Click bank?

Just because someone is offering 75% commission on a product does not mean you should promote their product.

Do your research before starting your campaign look for low competition niche markets with a starving crowd. Focusing on making $1 or 1 sale before conquering the world.

It is very important to create a product that will allow you to eventually spread out into other markets. The goal is for the folks who initiallly purchase your creation to as well obtain your next products.
